Wedding Photography Timeline!

YAY!! Your Engaged!!
Now what!??

booking your photographer usually occures between 6 to 12 months prior to your wedding event!

engagement sessions should be booked 6 to 10 months prior your wedding date.

bridal sessions should be booked about 2 to 4 months prior your wedding date.
***pictures take about 3 weeks to get back for portrait sessions.***

2-4 weeks proir to the wedding - your wedding day info is due! Once we have it, and review it we will set up a time to chat about any details!

2 weeks prior event - your final payment is due.

the wedding day - it's already here!?? can you believe how fast the time flew!!
time to HAVE FUN!!!

1-2 weeks after the wedding - we will post our favorite images on the blog for a sneek peek!

4-6 weeks after the wedding - all of the edited images will be posted on your online galleries through pictage, and you will recieve your best of slideshow!

4-6 weeks after the wedding - select photos for proof book. Digital negatives are ready for pick up or shipping!

6-8 weeks after the wedding - we will send your wedding album design for your review online. (choosing your photos for your album is the most time consuming part, so as soon as that is done we are able to begin your album design.) any album design revisions should be sent as soon as possible. This also impacts the time to get your album finished.

9-12 weeks after the wedding - once we receive your album changes we will send you an updated version for review. once the album design is approved, and final custom edits are completed and the album is ordered and sent to willowbook. Pictage will then print all the images, and willowbook laser cut all the mats to our secifications, hand make the entire album, and then ship it back to us. this process varies depending on the time of the year and ranges 5-8 weeks.

Where are you located?
We are located in the downtown Atlanta, GA. We are by appointment only.

Do you travel?
Yes! We are international and travel frequently. Please contact us for further details and travel fees. (There is no travel fee for the Atlanta area.)

What are your rates?
Please contact us for rate information. Feel free to contact us anytime!

How long have you been photographing portraits and weddings?
Alea graduated from NCState University in 2003 during which she has be actively photographing weddings and families! In 2004 she started Alea Moore Photography! Kim joined AMP in 2005, and Chad and Tina joined AMP in 2006! Combined we shoot approx. 70 weddings a year! That's a lot of wedding cake!

How far in advance should we book you for our wedding?
Typically we book weddings about one year in advance, depending on the time of year. (Our busy season starts in March and lasts through November.)

Do you photograph in both black and white and color?
We photograph in color, then as we edit your photos we change the tone the best encompasses the photo!

Do you photograph formals and group shots?
Yes, we certainly do photograph the formals and group shots! Every wedding is unique in the amount and types of formals they would like!

How many photographers will be at our wedding?
We always photograph in teams of two. We have had the request for more then two, and in that case please inquire!

Do we actually get the high res. negatives?
You certainly do! We give you your negatives and a copyright for reproduction, so you are able to print the photos whenever where ever you would like! Forever!

When do we get our negatives from the wedding?
Your negatives will be ready for pick up 6-8 weeks after your wedding date.

What are you doing to our photos during that 6 to 8 weeks?
Every wedding we give about 1000 or more photos and because we are giving you the negatives, it takes us time to make sure every picture is ready for printing. We also take the time to organize all your photos for easy archiving!

How do we book you?
We require a signed contract and a non-refundable retainer (50%) of the wedding package you choose to book to secure your wedding date. We would also be happy to schedule a consultation with you to go over our packages and show more of our work in detail!

When should I schedule my engagement and bridal session?
Engagement sessions are typically booked 6-9 months before your wedding date-giving you enough time to use them in a save the date if you so choose. Bridal sessions are typically booked 2-4 months before your wedding date. Our biggest recommendation is as soon as you know when you would like to schedule your session- to please let us know as soon as possible because dates fill up fast!

Do you photograph engagement and bridal sessions in both studio and on location?
No, we photograph on location only. We shoot on location with the hopes that we will be in places where you are most comfortable and your true personalities will come out!! We would be happy to help find the best location for you!

What type of clothing should be worn for our engagement sitting?
We think it’s best to keep it simple! Stay away from clothing with any words or busy patterns. We love it when you wear something that you are most comfortable in!

What do I need to prepare for my bridal portrait sitting?
One of the first things you will need to do is contact your florist to order a bridal portrait bouquet for the day of your sitting. You should also decide on the location for your sitting; we would be happy to help you with this decision. We’ve found that bringing an old white flat sheet (to place under your dress if needed), plenty of water, good friends or family and extra powder and lipstick will help!

How long after my engagement or bridal portrait sitting will my proofs be ready to view?
Your negatives will be ready for you to view 2-3 weeks after your session. We will call and email you to let you know when they are ready!

Do you offer albums?
Yes, we have a large selection of albums from which you may choose. Our most popular is a digital flush mount coffee table album. We do all our album designing in house- that's great for a couple reasons! One we have gotten to know you, and hopefully that will reflect in your design! We also want your album to be perfect, so there isn't a limit to changes! We will work on it together until it is perfect!!
We also offer a selection of matte style albums and heirloom-style albums. We would be happy to schedule a consultation with you to go over the albums in detail.
