It's all about the details
|

Hello friends! Happy humpday! I hope your Wednesday is fun filled and as productive as you wish!
I know you were all thinking, "when are we going to get to see something new!" Well here it is! A mini hamburger with a sprig of rosemary and a green olive. All of my favorite food items rolled up into one! A very unlikely combination but oh so good! Again, you're probably thinking "why are you showing us a hamburger stuck with an olive rosemary stick?" (don't you love how I can read minds) It's all about the details!!! Many of our couples come to us looking for suggestions on how to make their wedding extra special. Alea and I have been to a bazillion weddings and we've seen a lot and we LOVE to share what we love! One thing that we both love is a day full of details! We get giddy when we walk into a room overflowing with thoughtfulness and creativity. Something so "you" that no one else could have thought of it! My point is, don't be afraid to get creative and make your day unique! Even if it sounds as crazy as a mini hamburger stuck with an olive at the end of the night!
We took this photo at Hans and Katie's wedding this past weekend and they had SO many fabulous details!! I can't wait to share their wedding but you have to wait just a little longer :)
Enjoy!

Hi Friends!!
Hope everyone is having a fabulous friday!! I am hoping with this post I can bring a little sunshine to all the rain we have been getting in the last 24 hours! With fall approaching, I wanted to share some fun ideas!! I am addicted to the site www.etsy.com, a place where people make all things handmade! The folks here make some wonderful items for weddings, and they had been popping up on my favorites, so I had to share them with you for a fun idea Friday!!
Hope you like them, and hope they bring you lots of ideas!! I would love to see one one of these at an upcoming wedding!! wink wink!!
Happy friday! |

my fellow blog stalkers

Ok, I know a lot of you always tease us and say that you are our blog stalkers (and we absolutly love it :) but I'm hear to tell you, you're not alone!! I'm a blog stalker too!! My newest victim is 100 Layer Cake! This is the coolest place to go for new and fresh wedding ideas so I thought I would share it with all of our fabulous brides!!! They share ideas for decor, wedding attire and accessories, do it yourself flowers, incredibly special little details and the most AMAZING invitations and save the dates!! I could go on and on!! I'm not even planning a wedding but I'm storing ideas away for any future "girly" parties that I could be throwing!! I might be the last to know about this little gem of a blog, but hopefully some of you will snag some fun ideas from it!!! I hope every last one of you have a fantastic weekend!!......
.... and because every post is better with a photo :) |

Real vs. Fake- Top 20
|

Sorry for keeping you guys waiting on the answer for this! I was really impressed to see how many of you guessed correctly! But, flower bouquet #2 was the REAL one!
During our photo session of the bouquets, I can honestly say I was stunned at how real the fake bouquet looked. There were a few things that I noticed which i pointed out below that were obviously "fake" looking. ut besides that I was really impressed with the quality the silk flowers presented!
We interviewed Edge Designs, Maxine, and asked a professional in the field her opinion on fake vs. real!
What is the advantage of choosing fake over real?
"Silk flowers do have the advantage of not wilting. That would be something to consider if you are having a hot summer wedding and/or if you are partial to very delicate flowers like peonies, hydrangea, ect that tend to droop quickly. Also, they will be much more durable for things like bridal sessions where the bouquet will be going through a lot."
Another advantage is if you are wanting flowers out of their season, that normally would be very hard to find or very expensive in order to have the real ones- like peonies. Even if you are getting married in the winter, you could still have all the vibrant, colorful flowers you want because silk flowers are always in season! ;)
Lastly, they will look just as beautiful on your 25th anniversary as they did on your wedding day!"
Would I save money if I purchase fake flowers?
"It all depends. If you are looking for high quality silk flowers that will look real, they can be just as expensive as real flowers. You might be able to save money if you go with a lower quality silk flower, but it might be at the cost of looking real."
Do you have any other suggestions other then real flowers?
"Don't be afraid to step out of the box! Things like feathers, shells, jewelry, fruit, veggies, leaves, even ribbon! There are so many options to make your bouquet stunning and personal. Even if you chose a few of your favorite flowers and then filled the rest of your bouquet with something a "little different"! Whether you choose real or fake or neither- there are tons of different options out there to help you create the look you for your bridal bouquets, centerpieces, wreaths, garlands, and much more, and fit your budget!"
There ya go! Hope that helps with even just a little insight on photographing Fake vs. Real flowers! If you have any ideas you would like to share, I would love to hear them!
A special thanks again to Edge Design for their help!! You guys are fantastic!!

| The stems were the only part that I didn't really like- so I would suggest making sure they were wrapped all the way down. |
