Erin & Neal

April 18, 2008 by Kimberly  -  Weddings

Each morning before a wedding I open my eyes and the first thing I think is “It’s My Wedding Day!!” Well, technically this particular Sunday was Erin and Neal’s wedding day but I still have that excited, anxious to get started feeling that every bride has and most of all I can’t wait to see the pictures. I know that sounds funny for a photographer to say, but it’s true. It’s so awesome how every wedding is different in the details, traditions, the people and most importantly the bride and groom!! You just never know what you’re going to get. It’s like a huge surprise every weekend. I love it!

..... And what a great surprise we had going through Erin and Neal’s images. They got married on the first Sunday in April at Callanwolde. When you’re there, everywhere you look screams classic elegance! There were lots of cool things about their day, but my favorite was probably Erin’s dress and veil. Incredible!. Her super long veil was embroidered with tiny flowers that matched her dress perfectly. Together it was so dramatic and beautiful. OH, and the cake matched too!

Erin and Neal – Thank you both for being so great! We had a so much fun hanging out with you all day and snapping so many kisssy pictures. Those are always the best! Enjoy your little sneak peak of your pictures. We had a really hard time narrowing down all our favs!

Amanda + David

April 14, 2008 by Alea  -  Weddings

I have probably had the opportunity to share with most of you that on the day of my destination wedding there was a tropical storm that had decided to blow through. One of the memories I have- is looking out the car window as we were driving to site and the rain just pouring.. and all I could think of was- "this can't be happening." Despite all that, i can look back and remember such a wonderful day despite the rain. now, looking through my wedding photos- i really can't remember the rain... what I do remember is - my grandmother giving me her ring that since I was a little girl dreamed of wearing, being excited about our flowers, getting to put lei's on our friends, the music during our ceremony where the lyrics say- word of god speak, fall down like rain, washing my eyes to see, your majesty.....looking into my husbands red teary eyes during our ceremony(my husband never cries, so this was so special to me), our hawaiian cake toppers, remember the rain stopping enough for us to walk down to the old oak tree, and getting down during our reception! Just those wonderful memories of our wedding...
now I know you are wondering why I am sharing this!
We recently photographed a wedding at Tybee island, GA. The day started out just beautiful, and we meet Amanda while she was getting ready. Amanda and Dave wanted to have pictures together before the ceremony, so we had them meet along this long pier- it was absolutely awesome. Then, we headed out to the beach to start some photos, and about 5 minutes into it- the craziest wind I had ever felt blew in and literally blew us off the beach. So we decided to try photos at the lighthouse, and by the time we came back we were hoping it would be time for the ceremony to start! The only thing, their backup plan was to have the wedding in a tent on the beach, but because the wind was so strong they had to move the backup plan. My hope is to not tell you where they ended up having the wedding, and instead show you photos of their wedding day...
Amanda and Dave- I know things weren't exactly the way you always dreamed. ;) But, i hope when you look through your photos the memories you will have are - how excited you were to put on your dress, the fact that both of you gave each other the same card, amanda's parent's giving you the pair of pearl earrings, your beautiful flowers, all your wonderful family and friends who came from so far to be with you that day, seeing each other for the first time, troy playing the guitar as amanda walked down the aisle and how you both felt during your ceremony... all these wonderful memories that I hope overcome everything else.... those are the wonderful memories that I hope you will start your lives together with.
thank you so much for letting us share your day with you both, and we wish you both lots more rainy and sunny days and most of all joyful days!!! with thanks, alea and kim

Erica + Matt

April 10, 2008 by Chad  -  Weddings

Tina and I had the great privilege of taking pictures of Erica and Matt in the beautiful town of Charleston. I do have to say that it doesn't get much better than shooting a wedding in Charleston. Erica and Matt couldn't have made us feel more at home and amongst friends. From the church to the reception it was all about personal touches and family. The reception was held at a restaurant called McCrady's. Ok, so the cool thing about this place was that "the" George Washington ate there! I mean seriously who gets to have their reception at a place like that! The thing that stood out to Tina and I the most was how much there friends cared about them. Literally, they had family and friends from all over the U.S. Here are just some of the pictures that show what we experienced. Thanks guys, we had so much fun and look forward to hearing from you soon!

Silvia & Chris

April 7, 2008 by Kimberly  -  Weddings

Silvia and Chris were our Miami couple! I can definitely say that they worked very hard to make every last detail special because the whole day was beautiful. One of my favorites was the car that Silvia and her dad drove to the ceremony in. It was an antique white Rolls Royce! Not only was it cool for them to show up in but we got some really amazing shots of it. Wherever it was, it made everything around it look like a perfect picture. That’s always nice...:)

After the ceremony we stole the newlyweds (and the car) away to the beach and then off to the reception. It was on the water at The Rusty Pelican with the most perfect view of downtown Miami. Wow! Windows lined the entire length of the room and when the sun was setting, I swear it looked like a painting! And the flowers....... and flowers and more flowers! Who doesn’t LOVE a room full of flowers!!? But I will say, that if I ever have a big event in Miami, I would definitely do it there!!

Silvia and Chris – the two of you and all your family and friends were so wonderful. Thank you so much for inviting us down to Miami to photograph your wedding! We had a blast getting to know everyone and spending the day with you!

Enjoy!!
Kim

This little guy was there helping Silvia get ready for her big day. He was so sweet and made sure everyone was greeted as they walked in!

Silvia and her dad on the way to the church...

... and the guys having a good time before things got started.

Silvia and Chris had a traditional Catholic ceremony that was just beautiful. AND it was an hour long!!

It was so funny when we were following them to the reception site. As we followed behind, the antique Rolls Royce only could go 30 miles an hour up hill. It was worth it though. The car was awesome!

One of our many favorites! I know we say that everytime, but how can we choose when we have shots like this one..... good job Alea ;)

This was so funny! Silvia had to close her eyes when she gave Chris his first bite of cake. The crowd was supposed to help guide her to the right spot, but as you can see the crowd had bad aim!!!
