Christina + Davy

With every wedding we get to be a part of, we are always in awe in how much work our couples do to make their day so special. Our hope with the blog is to give you a small glimpse into their day, and to hopefully show how unique every single wedding is.
Christina and Davy's wedding is no exception to creativity and indulging into your personality to create an occasion that is all your own. We were so impressed with every single detail, and originality that showed throughout their entire wedding! We asked christina if she would share some insight from what she learned during her planning and tips on how she came up with her ideas!
Tip #1- - Throughout my planning i made sure that i did nothing that i didn't see the point of. i.e. - i didn't do things just because the "eitquette" book said i had to. for example - i wanted my entire wedding party to sit together including their spouses so i had a HUGE head table! and i loved it!
Tip # 2- - - Eva at Tulip was AMAZING. i HIGHLY recommend her if someone is looking for a florist. she was a HUGE part of my inspiration and ideas. i came in with a few pictures that i had found online TheKnot and ProjectWedding - (both sites were really helpful to me) and i felt like Tulip had my vision from the start. i just told her that i liked texture and wanted greens, whites and a natural/organic feel to things. she took care of EVERYTHING visually (flowers, linens, lanterns, tree, etc) the place card tree was completely her idea that i fell in love with! Eva was so easy to work with and i felt like i could trust her completely. Find someone who will embrace your ideas, and help them become even better! With everything you have to worry about on your wedding day, it was wonderful knowing I has someone there to take care of everything, and make it look like how I've envisioned it!
Tip # 3 - - - i loved the table number cards too!!! that was a random idea one day. we got simba the bernese mountain dog puppy and we loved him to bits. we wanted to have him at the wedding but that would have been trouble. well my mom tinkers with photography - just for fun, not profressionally - and suggested that we use him for the table numbers. she whipped all those up on photoshop in all of a day and mounted them on card stock...easy, cheap, wonderful!
Tip # 4 - - The biggest thing that I would say for new brides is that the less time that you are engaged, the better. there is no need to have years and years to contemplate what shade of green the chinese take out favor boxes should be to perfectly coordinate with the flowers. your brain will hurt. i guess this is a personal choice, but i found that less time was good for me - i felt GREAT and HAPPY when it was all over!!!
Christina and Davy! Firstly, thank you again for giving us an inside look of your wedding planning! Like I had said, we loved your originality! We hope that you love your photos, and that they wonderfully remind you of such a beautiful day, despite the weather and BMW parades! ;) All of us here wish you both lots of blessings!

They say you shouldn't see each other before the wedding, but they never say you can't talk to each other! ;)

Katherine + Shawn

I know how all of you are anticipating the answer to our real vs. fake post, but I wanted to post some photos from my engagement session a few weeks ago! There is just not enough time to post everything we want to!
I met katherine and shawn up in athens, ga where we ventured out to the athens botanical garden. It was the second time i had been there in a week, so it was wonderful to get to spend so much wonderful time in nature! Although there wasn't a whole lot blooming, it was still fun trying to find cool places- nature always provides the most wonderful backgrounds! The coolest part of the session was once we left the gardens, immediately outside there are all the animal science units from UGA. There was an amazing grassy field the stretched forever, and then we came across this old red bard- it was fabulous! I was so excited when Katherine and Shawn were willing to venture out there with me to take some not so typical engagement photos.
Katherine and Shawn, I can't wait for your wedding in October. You two really are the kindest people, and I had so much fun with you both. Thank you for letting me spend a little time with you two to create some fun memories!
Cheers,

Real vs Fake- top 20
|

Continuing on our TOP 20 questions that we get asked, we ventured out to Edge Designs to find out if-
Do fake flowers photograph as well as real flowers?
We had them create us two similar bouquets one made with real flowers while the other made with fake flowers! We took photos in similar lighting situations, so hopefully you can see or can't see which is real which is fake?!?!
We would love to hear which you think is REAL and which you think is FAKE, so leave us a comment with your vote!
We will reveal the answer tomorrow along with some helpful hints and tips on flowers for your wedding!
Hope you are having a fabulous Monday!
