Lily + Andy

July 29, 2009 by Kimberly  -  Engagements

I love it when couples have a special reason for choosing where they want to have their engagement photos done! Sometimes it's so difficult picking the perfect spot to take these super fun photos :) but sometimes it's just as simple as thinking about your first date! Lily and Andy chose Marietta Square! Not only are their millions.. and I mean millions of awesome spots for photos, they met for the first time at the Marietta Pizza Company!! Just for a quick lunch of pizza and salad, but it must have been a pretty special lunch because they are tying the knot in just a few short weeks!

Lily and Andy, what an awesome way to start out your day!!! Thanks so much for taking your morning off to hang out with me! You guys are such a sweet couple and we can't wait for your wedding!! We are going to have a blast!!!

Enjoy!

a baby shower!

July 28, 2009 by Kimberly  -  Personal

As many of you may know by now, we have welcomed a tiny new addition at Alea Moore Photography!!!! But wait... I need to start from the beginning. Well not the very beginning but I should at least start with the party! I knew I would be planning a baby shower the first day that Alea told me she and AP were having a baby!!! It was one of the first things that popped in my head when she told me!! I couldn't wait! I started planning right away and I think I researched and collected ideas for this very important party for MONTHS! I don't think I've studied that much since I was in school which was YEARS ago!!

Although I don't have much experience with baby parties, I do have TONS of experience with weddings! And I know it's all about the details! The first and most important detail was the flowers. I was so excited to call our friends at Tulip and as you can see, they went crazy with the flowers! They did such a fantastic job and I can't thank Heather enough for helping me! Without her expertise I would have been completely lost :) And someone else that helped me tremendously was Sheri, my partner in crime!! She was there helping with everything!! The food, setting up, giving me extra little ideas that made the day that much more perfect!! I couldn't have done it without her!!

Another one of my favorite details were the favors!! Alea's family drove all the way from North Carolina to be here for her baby party and brought the most adorable things! Jessica and Carol put together little pots with all kinds of different herbs in them. They were even personalized with tiny tags that had a little bird saying "Merci" to thank all of Alea's guests for coming! They were adorable and I loved them so much!!! I have my little basil plant sitting in my kitchen window. I've even used it in a sauce or two!!

There were so many great things about the day and I had so much fun putting it all together! It was so wonderful for me to be able to throw such an important party for my very dear friend and I can't wait to hopefully do it again one day :):) Any more babies on the way???

Enjoy!
Kim

Priscilla & Jay

July 25, 2009 by Kimberly  -  Weddings

I know we always highlight our favs throughout the whole day that we spend with our couples, but I had so many favs from Priscilla and Jay's newlywed photos that I couldn't help it! I love them all so much so I decided to treat you all to a little newlyweds post!!!

We say this all the time to our couples, but the photos of the two of you I promise will be your favorites! It's one of the only times during your wedding day that it's just the two of you together loving on each other!! Just 30 minutes of time that you get to do whatever you want..... kiss, hug, skip around, lay in the grass.... whatever you want! So the more time we get to spend with you the better!

Priscilla and Jay actually had their first glance before their ceremony. It was such a sweet moment out in an area where there were huge magnolia and oak trees covering the sky. They spent a few moments checking each other out :) and then we walked around to to find some really cool spots for them to snuggle up and just be with each other!! They were awesome and we had lots of fun with them before the ceremony. After they were officially married, we walked up the street to downtown Decatur and had some more fun. We had such an awesome shoot with them on such a beautiful summer day and I just couldn't narrow their photos down! I know that it's not always possible in the day to spend a lot of time with us for just the two of you, but I hope that I inspired some of you to squeeze in an extra few minutes with us :) We promise that it's totally worth it!

Priscilla and Jay, Thank you so much for spending the day with us! We had such a fun time with you guys and loved your entire day! You two are just so sweet with each other and I hope that these photos remind you both of how awesome your wedding day really was!!

Enjoy!

Nichole + Sean

July 17, 2009 by Kimberly  -  Weddings

Did someone say Charleston??
There's nothing like a wedding in Charleston! All the history and architecture, the colors and all the incredible food! And believe me, every time I go there, it's all about the food! Well,.. and weddings of course!! This super fun wedding was an adventure for me and Alea. We hopped on a plane on Thursday, shot this gorgeous wedding on Friday and then flew home early on Saturday morning to shoot another wedding that afternoon!! Whheew! And Sunday there was rest :)

There were tons of really special things about Nichole and Sean's wedding. Nichole wore her sisters dress and wore it quite well :) The lovely church where they were married had been beautifully rebuilt after a fire!! Their wedding was in Charleston (which is pretty cool in of itself), they had a guy rolling cigars at the reception and they had Cold Stone Ice Cream!!!!!! What more could you ask for!? Oh, and their escape vehicle was a rickshaw!!!! How cool is that!

Nichole and Sean - We couldn't have asked for a more perfect trip to Charleston!! We had an amazing time with the two of you and I hope this hint of wedding day bliss was worth the wait :)

Enjoy!!

Katie + Brian

July 16, 2009 by Kimberly  -  Engagements

Is anyone out there a So You Think You Can Dance fan? Colby laughs at me because so I think I can dance in my socks all around our kitchen floor.... I can, and I'm pretty good :) I also love sitting down and grabbing my Tivo remote to watch both episodes at once!! But I cheated this week and watched the dancing last night so today I just couldn't focus! All I could think about is who is going to get voted off??!! Did America get it right? Well I hope so because if my favorites get voted off, I think I will cry! My favs are Brandon, Kayla, Janette, Jeanine and Ade. Do you think I watch a little too much TV? Well if you're not into TV like me, maybe you're into some photos!

Katie, Brian and their awesome little dog Harley Ro drove all the way from Augusta just to hang out with me in the Marietta Square one morning! I am so excited to share these photos because I just love all the great smiles on Katie's face. So cute and so sweet and I just love it when our couples look at each other the way these two did. I had so much fun with them and absolutely can't wait until their wedding coming up in December!

Katie & Brian, Thank you so much for driving up to have your engagements in the coolest square in Atlanta!! I hope you got to spend a little time shopping around and eating some good food!!

Enjoy your photos!
Kim
